Al-Qabaj opens Diyarna handicrafts exhibition under the slogan “Egypt speaks to my craftsman”

Mrs. Nevin Al-Kabbaj, Minister of Social Solidarity, opened today the “Dyarna Handicrafts” exhibition, in the presence of Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, and a number of representatives of the Ministry, the Bank and partners. The exhibition will continue until next March 7 at Cairo Festival City Mall in New Cairo. The exhibition will open its doors to the public from 10am to 10pm free. The current edition of the “Dyarna Handicrafts” exhibition raises the slogan “Egypt speaks craftsman,” as it is held on an area of more than 3,500 square meters, and amid strict precautionary measures, and the new session celebrates the unique Nubian culture and arts as the guest of honor, in addition to the participation of a number of environmentally friendly associations. This is within the framework of Egypt’s preparations to organize the climate change conference in Sharm El-Sheikh, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, and artists with disabilities. “Dyarna” is the oldest and most prestigious exhibition in support of the field of handicrafts and the preservation of traditional arts from extinction, and this edition enables more than 350 exhibitors from all over the Republic to promote their authentic handicrafts, which contributes to creating direct sales opportunities and opening new markets for them. The exhibition continues to support the skills of craftsmen with disabilities, by allocating exhibition spaces for more than 40 exhibitors from non-governmental organizations and social institutions, while displaying the success stories of many of them. For her part, the Minister of Social Solidarity said that the “Diyarna” exhibition represents an economic, heritage and cultural value for the Ministry of Social Solidarity since its first launch in 1964, due to its inherent role in supporting the national craft industry by promoting handmade products that are manufactured by craftsmen and hundreds of thousands of productive families in the country.
